What are the main types of ball valves? How to choose?

Common types and applicable scenarios:

Floating ball valve: The ball can float slightly, and the valve seat is sealed by the medium pressure. Suitable for small diameter, medium and low pressure (such as DN≤200mm).

Fixed ball valve: The ball is fixed, and the valve seat is preloaded with spring. Suitable for high pressure and large diameter (such as oil pipeline).

V-type ball valve: The ball has a V-shaped cutout, which can accurately adjust the flow (such as slurry, dust medium).

Full-bore/reduced-bore ball valve: The full-bore flow is unobstructed, and the reduced-bore saves cost but has a large pressure loss.

Selection points:

Media type (corrosive stainless steel or fluorine-lined ball valve).

Pressure level (fixed ball valve for high pressure).

Temperature (metal seal for high temperature, extended valve stem for low temperature).
